Match 2 downloaded transactions to 1 registry entry that has a split

I pay my home security in one registry entry that is split into monitoring and equipment. When I download the transactions from my bank account it is two separate transactions. How do I match those two transactions to the one single registry entry?

@kbrock in order to match a downloaded transaction with an existing one in the account register, the amounts need to match exactly. Items in the split transactions are not matchable. You can delete the downloaded transactions and manually mark the existing transaction with "c" or "R".

If you want to be able to match two bank transactions to transactions in your Quicken account registers, you need to create two separate transactions in your account registers, one for monitoring, one for equipment.
As mentioned, you cannot match multiple bank transactions to a single register transaction.

I agree with the above. You said,

But if it downloads from your bank as 2 transactions, then you actually really pay in two transactions, not one split transaction, regardless of how you would like to see it.

If even though you pay in two transctions you need to see just one in Quicken, then deleting the downloaded transactions and manually flagging the one manual transaction you do is the only solution I can see, but then it's up to you to make sure the totals agree (helped by reconciliation of the grand totals).

You may be able to use categories to keep the transactions together, with a Security category that has a Monitoring subcategory and an Equipment subcategory. That will at least let you manage these through reporting.
