Persistence of Manually Entered Security Prices

I will enter year-end prices for securities in order to prepare reports at market value. These prices are not associated with a particular security transaction (such as a purchase or sale) but are manually entered into the pricing history only for purposes of valuation. The problem is that some of them have disappeared. For example, all of the prices entered for 12/31/19 are no longer shown in the price history and my year end valuation is incorrect. What might cause this behavior? I noticed that when I validate and repair a Quicken file, I have two options regarding the price history: "Repair" or "Delete and Rebuild." Could either of these options cause Quicken to drop prices?

I am using Quicken Classic Premier, version R62.16, Build 27.1.62.16 with Windows 11 Enterprise.

Thanks

@dave355 manually entered prices can easily be erased if you restore prices in any way (Validate, load Historical Prices) because Quicken can only rebuild prices from published sources. Take a look at what the validate says about repairing or deleting prices -

If you have deleted and rebuilt price history through a data file validate recently, that might explain why you are missing the 12/31/2019 prices since they were older than five years.
