The institution "Fidelity Investments Mac" isn't available

Quicken has been working just fine with my Fidelity accounts for ages. Until today.

I just added a 529 account at Fidelity.

Went to Quicken, clicked Add Account, found only Fidelity Investments.

I tried that, got a list of accounts at Fidelity, but couldn't link existing accounts - they were linked to Fidelity Investments Mac.

Tried typing Fidelity Investments Mac, got 0 results.

Did Quicken drop the financial institution?

"Fidelity Investments Mac" can no longer be selected for new accounts, it's been replaced with "Fidelity Investments". Direct Connect is not available with that, you'll have to use Quicken Connect, but you can still select Detailed investment tracking for investing accounts.

If your other Fidelity accounts are set up with Direct Connect and you want to keep using that for them you can do that (at least for a few more weeks, some time in late August you'll be forced to switch them over). When you set up your new account with Fidelity Investments, when you get to the step where all your other Fidelity accounts are listed deselect them all and only connect the new account. Deselecting the other accounts won't interfere with their existing connection method so they will continue to download using Direct Connect.

There was an email about a month ago, but apparently not everybody got it.

Found it. When it came I didn't pay much attention after I saw "No action is needed right now". In bold.

I just found the email, clicked on Learn More

That takes you to a page that makes no, repeat no mention of Fidelity Investments Mac.

Yesterday, when I tried to use what was presented (having used Fidelity Investments, the new name) I was told that I couldn't link an account because it was already linked to Fidelity Investments Mac.

I think we're going to have to deactivate, use the new name, then reactivate accounts.

Poor form.

If it isn't prompting you to change the connection method on your Fidelity accounts when you do a one step update, then I would expect to have to deactivate & then reactivate. I would recommend doing them all at once.

That sounds right. I think I'll wait until August (or whenever Quicken throws the switch).
