Fidelity "simple" downloads since EWC+ update
I know this has been receiving a lot of attention, but does anyone have a solution? My downloads from Fidelity worked fine until late July when Quicken pushed me to change connection from DC to EWC+. Now transactions only download in simple format and I have to reconstruct them manually. This is in spite of "complete tracking" being checked on the accounts. Restoring from a backup is not an option I want to take as it will force me to restore all my non-fidelity connections as well as being only a short term fix when we are forced to adopt EWC+ on the target date of 8/20/2025.

I think it's too early to tell if Fidelity will be able to provide Complete Investment Tracking with the new EWC+ connection. I am sure Quicken is working on it, along with the other challenges of the migration. In the meantime, I don't think there is a workaround except what you are manually doing right now.

I get it. Every person's situation is different. I restored my "pre-EWC+" backup and went from there. I have only a few connected accounts and run OSU daily (with backups), so reconnecting the non-Fidelity accounts and redownloading the transactions was not a big effort for me.
Last I read, Fidelity has postponed the cutover until further notice. Here's the Quicken alert. Scroll to the last entry. I recommend you bookmark it to keep informed on progress.

Does anyone have another option rather than the restore from back up to revert the EWC+ to DC on Fidelity?

Well you can try this. Make sure you backup your qdata file before attempting.
Check out Brownstone's comment in the "mega-thread". You may have to scan through others to tweak the results to fit your situation.

thanks nmestanas
sounds like a possible path but a bit Rube Goldberg so I'll wait another week to see if Quicken-Fidelity have an EWC+ fix and/or if they invoke the mandatory 8/20/2025 roll over. Since I've manually corrected all the entries up to current date I don't have much to loose by waiting and a bunch to screw up by "tweaking".

So now, this evening of August 16 when trying to update my Fidelity accounts I get a cc-506 error. Worked yesterday evening (8/15) I didn't do anything to change any items so the "account nickname doesn't match" message doesn't seem right. I'm hoping the Fidelity-Quicken Servers are down because they are trying to fix all the other problems so will try again tomorrow.

Fidelity error cc-506 gone this morning (Sunday 8/17) so maybe they were working on connection last night. Let's see what happens tomorrow as the week begins and transactions post. I can hope anyway.

This has still been a complete failure for me. It's hard to be patient with Quicken as it seems they never beta test anything. Too often, updates or new features are rolled out with more bugs than they are trying to solve.
My 401(k) with Fidelity has not worked correctly since early July. I have followed Quicken's instructions suggested in this post, and it is still broken. When my 401(k) downloads, it only downloads a single transaction of multiple transactions, and it is downloaded as "unknown security." If I try to download them manually, it automatically imports the transactions into my register rather than holding the transactions in the "Downloaded Transactions" so that I may edit/correctly match the downloaded securities to the proper securities in my Security List. Either way, I have to manually enter/edit everything that downloads.
It just blows my mind the way it seems nothing gets tested before they make a change they consider an "improvement." As a user, I fail to see any improvement when it does not work and creates more work for the end user.

Still no resolution with Fidelity. Today the "simple only" download continues and I have to correct manually.

Just wanted to chime in and say I'm having the same issues downloading from Fidelity. Last successful update was 8/4/25. I've de-activated/re-activated several times (including today), with no improvement.

Pfrose2101:
Clearly a Fidelity-Quicken issue. Not surprised that all your efforts were to no avail. Interesting that Quicken "admits" there are issues but it seems there are a whole host of problems with the EWC+ migration. Not clear where this one falls on their "to-do-list". Would be nice if they posted the issues they acknowledge so we could feel a bit more confident they are working on it. Meanwhile what I've been doing is that since Fidelity will download that an event occurred (albeit in simple format) it alerts me to go to the Fidelity website and find the full transaction which I can then manually edit/add in Quicken. Not exactly what I'm paying my annual license fee for but at least a "band-aid" with the hope all these comments get a response from Quicken-Fidelity.

Update as of 9/11/25. Transactions seem to be downloading now, except cash balances are not being handled correctly and prices of CDs are incorrectly being downloaded at 1% of actual value; i.e., a CD priced at $100.15 is downloaded at $1.0015.

Fidelity brokerage accounts seem to download correctly but Fidelity NetBenefits accounts still suffering from the "simple" only down issue That has been the plague since late July - early August. If this post is monitored, any updates from Quicken would be appreciated.
