The Minimum Gain Button on an investment sale should either be a default preference choice or moved to an earlier screen to facilitate downloading transactions in actively traded brokerage managed investment accounts. These accounts can have many buy and sell transactions each month in different accounts (brokerage, IRA, Roth, etc.) and each one needs to be edited in order to accept it. These accounts always use the minimum gain method.
