Quicken Backup Settings Not Saved

I have Quicken set up to backup my file when I close Quicken. I have always chosen the checkboxes for "Add date to backup file name" and "Also add time to name". Those two options would remain chosen in subsequent backups. However in the past few days (as of 9/27/25) these check boxes are not kept and I have to select them every time I backup my file. I installed the most recent version of Quicken today and the problem remains. I believe this started when the little advertisement in the right side of the backup window was automatically displayed. How can I get Quicken to "remember" that these two checkboxes are checked. Thanks, Steve

    Hello @stevesbe,

Thanks for sharing your experience. I can imagine how annoying it must be when your backup settings don’t save as expected.

I’m actually running the same version of Quicken (R64.30) that you are, and I’m not seeing the same issue on my end, so I don’t think it’s a widespread bug. That said, I do have a few follow-up questions that might help narrow it down:

    • Where is your Quicken data file stored (local disc, network drive, or another location)?
    • Is the file being synced or backed up by any third-party services like iCloud, Dropbox, OneDrive, etc.?
    • Approximately how long do you think this has been happening?

Once I have a bit more info, I’ll do my best to help figure this out!

Hi Alyssa - Today when I used Quicken it DID retain the check marks. I didn't do anything special…it just started working again. It's my mystery of the day. :) Thanks for replying. Take care, Steve
