USAA-Quicken Transaction Problem

A number of other people have posted problems about USAA and Quicken synchronization. I'm having a similar problem that may or may not be the same, but I will share my problem as a new thread. There are two possible root causes to this problem:

  1. USAA Forced reauthorization of all my USAA accounts sometime in 2024 due to the merger of USAA business entities
  2. My wife and I have two different USAA logins, but her accounts are shared with mine, so the same individual account was available from Quicken two different ways
    1. Through her Quicken login directly
    2. Through my Quicken login as a shared account
I fixed this to avoid duplication so that I only use my USAA login to synch with Quicken and all of her accounts are shared with me.

Somehow, when I resolved these two problems and reauthorized with USAA, I lost some transactions and some of these transactions that I lost are old ones prior to 2024. I was only able to download detailed transaction data from USAA up until March of 2024, so I had to put in a balance adjustment in March of 2024 to account for these missing transactions. It would have been almost impossible to go back beyond March of 2024 to try to locate these missing transactions.

After I put in a balance adjustment for these missing transactions, I was able to get the rest of the account to balance correctly. This was a very difficult problem to find and fix. I hope this post is helpful to others.

How to get to use one user ID for both USAA accounts? I tried that and it didn't work. I started a new file and was able to add both hers and mine to quicken without problem. When trying to add them all it will either load my accounts or her but not both.
