Quicken 2016 Deluxe Installed on Windows 11

Not sure if others are still fighting the install of Quicken 2016 on to a system running Windows 11. I finally found success.

I installed Quicken 2016 from the original CD. Did no updating nor running of any patches. I still had Quicken 2016 running on a Windows 10 system. Before running the program, I accessed The MyDocuments\Quicken folder and copied the most recent QDF, QIF and what appeared as Quicken2025OXFLLOG.DAT (your DAT file will approximate what you label your data files). These were then pasted into the MyDocuments\Quicken folder on the Windows 11 system.

Then on the Windows 11 system the C:\ProgramData\Intuit\Quicken\Config folder was renamed OldConfig. A new Config folder was created. I then copied from the Windows 10 system the C:\ProgramData\Intuit\Quicken\Config folder into the Windows 11's C:\ProgramData\Intuit\Quicken folder.

I then clicked on the Quicken 2016 icon on my home page and Quicken 2016 opened right up with my most current data file.

This got me around trying to get into Quicken.com and trying to sign up for a Quicken account for this new install. Until I tried this, I had tried all the suggested approaches on this forum and never got beyond a screen to sign into Intuit to register the software.

This method worked on a second Windows 11 system and on several old Windows 10 systems.

I am not going to go the subscription route and as long as this method works, I will keep 4 or 5 computers around with Quicken 2016 actually running on them.

One caveat, if you need any of the online features of Quicken 2016 I do not know if they will work. I have never and will never download data to Quicken from my financial institutions.
