Fidelity data issues (DivX vs Div etc.) since deactivating and reactivating all the accounts
The Fidelity migration finally got to the stage where I wasn't able to connect (Quicken for Windows) a couple weeks ago so I deactivated all the accounts one at a time and reactivated them by starting over with Fidelity and linking to existing accounts after it found them. that worked, the accounts act like they are connected again. and data was downloaded that more or less matched the last real connect I had accomplished toward the end of September
HOWEVER, the one account that has had activity is now insisting on classifying everything that should be a normal div (and was classified that way for years of tracking) as DivX, a Sold as Soldx and Bought as BoughtX. Why are things showing up this way when the "transfer" is the same account?
So if I put the transactions in when they occur, when they download, they won't match automatically since for whatever reason Quicken is classifying the downloaded data as if there is a transfer back into the same account. which is incredibly bad. it won't let me match manually either. If I change each one as it comes in I can make them look normal, but I tend to put my data in when I've caused it to happen (i.e. a buy or sell). I don't want to have to touch this data each time, and it's the only account I've seen it occurring in so far. although I imagine the other Fidelity accounts could have the same problem. I also want automatic matching of downloaded data, which is not working.
If you can't correct the feed, at least let a divx from the feed match a div already in the register or a soldx from feed match a sold.
I've used Quicken continuously since the 1990s, let's get this figured out please.
