Ongoing saga of Quicken incorrect rename push

Quicken Win subscription (all versions since whenever whenever) can't stop trying to "fix" accounts that "look like" they are renamed, based solely on share count.

Below is one of several MLN accounts. Quicken frequently thinks I need to fix this. They don't even have close to similar names or CUSIP/symbol. [Removed-Rant]

Last week, it changed 3 of 6 accounts at LPL to simple tracking, claiming they only supported Express Web Connect (they do not; they support Web Connect). I had to restore from a backup and reconnect those accounts after a few days of issues; they resolved.

Then there's the Fidelity SNAFU, don't get me started…

Created a new post as the old one, (edited) less than 2 weeks old, was closed.

No, Quicken continues to demand that I rename accounts that are in no way, shape, or form the same.

Today, the Quicken update can't even match up a downloaded cashed check transaction (with a check #) that I wrote 30 days ago.

    Thank you for sharing your experience, though I am sorry to hear that you are having continued issues.

    I am glad the issue with the LPL accounts seems to have cleared up. I have some follow-up questions for you.

    • Where is your data file located?
    • Is your file being synced/backed up by any third-party services like OneDrive, Dropbox, or Norton?
    • Did the check you entered a month ago have matching information to the transaction that downloaded? Like Date, Payee, and Amount?
      • This Support Article mentions that these are the things Quicken uses to match transactions.
