Some of my Credit Card accounts are not reconciling - To balance requires entering duplicate trans.

This started when agent recommended creating a new file when I couldn't connect to Amex. Now, after a one-step update, my Chase account and Discover account are not reconciling with card company, even though I show every transaction the card company does, but card companies show a higher amount owed, which in both cases are the same amount of an already cleared item. I am using Quicken Classic for PC.

    Additional information:

    In an exhaustive search for why the two accounts were not reconciling, I discovered that when the new file was made and I had to reconnect all the different accounts, my Discover and Chase Visa accounts both created a false Opening Balance dated 20 years ago. Both showed a payment/credit of the same amounts as the most recent transaction in each account, changing the running balance and preventing me from balancing/reconciling with my financial institutions. I only discovered this by entering the $$ amounts in the search box. After finding and changing the opening balance to 0, I was able to reconcile both accounts. Nice bug, Quicken!

    This post is in the topic because it is not related to the Canadian version. That being said, this issue or bug has existed for a long time. I've also had the same issue occasionally result from version updates.
