Why does One Step Update Freeze in new Quicken Installation

I am trying to move all data from an old Windows 10 to a new Window 11 computer. I downloaded Quicken Classic on new computer and moved the Quicken data file over to the new computer. Everything comes up on the new Computer except when I try to do a OneStep update, the first account seems to work, but then OneStep update just appears to churn and never completes. I have to Cntrl/Alt/Del to get out. Is there a way to fix this and why doesn't it time out?

I suspect I'm going to have to reset the On-line services for all of the accounts which I'm trying to avoid. Is this the case?

Before doing that, log out of your data file, close/reopen Quicken and log back in and see if that resolves it.

To log out: Edit > Preferences > Quicken ID & Cloud Accounts > Sign in as a different user > yes to sign out

    - Q Win Deluxe user since 2010, US Subscription
    - I don't use Cloud Sync, Mobile & Web, Bill Pay/Mgr

Tried the sign out, but same thing happened. When I try OneStep, the first account works, but then it just freezes up.

    Hello @brhutch,

Thank you for sharing your experience.

To answer your question, Quicken usually would time out if/when it gets hung up. That could indicate that it's something on the computer causing the issue.

    • Have you restarted your computer lately?
      • If not, please do so.
    • Do you have a VPN, Antivirus, or Firewall that could be interfering?
      • If so, try disabling them temporarily and updating your accounts.

I am curious, when you moved your file over, did you move it to the hard drive before opening it? Sometimes accessing your file from an external drive or cloud can cause the file to behave in strange ways, and can even cause data file damage.

The default location is C:>Users>username>Documents>Quicken, and that is where we recommend storing your active data file.

    Looking forward to your response.
