Deleting entries from database

It would be nice to work on a modification where transactions can be deleted to reduce the database size. Maybe there can be a link to a deleted transaction database that can be linked to if the transactions requested are prior to the last date of deletion. Sort of like how an index can link segmented parts of a file.

    Ummm … have you tried File Menu / Backup or Copy File and then selecting either

    • Create a copy or template with a Date Range or
    • Create a year-end archive with a cutoff date?

    Provided that your banking registers are properly reconciled for every transaction prior to cutoff date, this should work.
    However, there are exceptions to what is eligible for migration to a year-end archive file. Investment transactions, for example, are never migrated. Account registers which cannot be reconciled, e.g., Customer Invoices, are another example. So, YMMV.
