Display of the same payee and Merging Memorized payees

Recently I have been merging Memorized payees and the results have changed in recent days. Here is a view Pre merge

The first observation is that in my experience when the Payee names are the same the second, third etc. names are left blank and only the subsequent categories were listed. Thus the second United airlines name would be blank. This is an example

Then I highlighted the two and used the merge function. I assumed the display would change and the second United Airlines name would be blank. But it was not and the result was:

Any insight as to why this happened?

    Hello @acs2,

    Thank you for sharing your experience and posing this question.

    I am unable to recreate this in my own Quicken. When I merge payees, the Payee is listed on the first instance, and then subsequent entries are blank, as you described in your post.

    I do have some follow-up questions for you that may help us narrow this down.

    • How long has this issue been happening?
    • Where is your data file located?
    • Is your file being synced/backed up by any third-party services like Carbonite, Dropbox, or OneDrive?

    One thing we can try is validating your file.

    To do this:

    1. Save a backup.
    2. Go to File.
    3. Select Validate and Repair file… Validate and Repair 2.png
    4. Check the first box for Validate file.
    5. Click Ok.

    Once the validation has completed, it will produce a report of anything it has found/corrected. Let me know how this goes and if it corrects the issue.
