US Bank issues (not seeing authorization screen)

Can't find anything on this issue that just started last week. When I attempt to reauthorize my US Bank accounts, it goes to the US Bank website, I can login but then the next screen is blank and it never displays my accounts to chose from and Quicken never times out. What gives?

Now I can't download any of my transactions with that bank. See the attached screenshots.

    Why the Blank Screen Happens

    1. Quicken Uses a Bank-Hosted Authorization Page

When you reauthorize, Quicken opens the US Bank website in a browser window to confirm credentials and show linked accounts. Sometimes that bank-hosted page doesn’t fully load — leaving a blank or stuck screen even though you completed the login on the first page. Quicken

    This can be due to:

    • Browser settings blocking content
    • Pop-up blockers
    • Cookies/cache interfering
    • The default browser not being compatible

This blank screen issue has been reported by other users and is recognized in the official Quicken community forums. Quicken

    Troubleshooting Steps

    1. Try a Different Browser

Quicken relies on your default web browser for the reauthorization flow.

✔ Switch your default browser to:

    • Microsoft Edge
    • Google Chrome
    • (Some users find Edge works best)

Then try the reauthorization again. Quicken

    2. Clear Cache & Cookies

Old cookies or stored site data for U.S. Bank can prevent the second page with the account list from loading.

    • Open your browser’s settings
    • Clear cache, cookies, and site data
    • Completely close the browser and restart Quicken

    Try the reauthorization again. Quicken

    3. Disable Pop-Up Blockers / Privacy Extensions

Even if the login works, the account selection screen may be blocked by:

    • Pop-up blockers
    • Privacy/tracking extensions (e.g., ad blockers)

Temporarily disable these for the US Bank site and try again. Quicken

    4. Reset or Deactivate/Reconnect the Account

    If the above doesn’t work:

    1. In Quicken go to Tools → Account List
    2. Click Edit next to your US Bank account
    3. Go to the Online Services tab
    4. Try Reset Account / Improve Connection
    5. If that fails, Deactivate the online connection
    6. Then reconnect via Add Account → search for U.S. Bank → sign in → link to existing accounts Quicken

Often that clears the stale authentication flow that’s causing the blank screen. Quicken

Note: Always back up your Quicken data file before deactivating connections.

🧠 What’s Changing Behind the Scenes

US Bank and Quicken have recently been transitioning to a new connection method (Express Web Connect+), and if your accounts need that migration you might see strange behavior. The blank screen is often tied to that security upgrade and how the bank serves the authorization page. Open the link below

Switching from Google Chrome to Microsoft Edge fixed the issue for me.

I have been having the same problem since Saturday (January 10, 2026). While running OSU I was asked to re-verify my credentials with U. S. Bank. After entering them and the 4-digit passcode to sign on, I got a blank screen rather than the screen asking to select which accounts to sync. Quicken deactivated OSU for the accounts.

I’ve done all the steps suggested by The Keeper and have tried using both Chrome and Edge to set up the accounts to no avail.

Evidently this is a known issue. Is there any word from U.S. Bank on when it will be resolved?

I am new to Quicken and cannot connect to US Bank. Same issue as described by other users. What is the status with US Bank. I did talk with US Bank/Quicken Support and they said this was known issue and to keep checking the forum.

It would be nice to know when to expect that this issue will be resolved.

Nice to know I am not the only one! I spent about 2 hours on the phone yesterday with Quicken/Intuit with no results. Tried 3 browsers, turning off everything. They suggest I uninstall my Avast program, but I have been using it and Quicken for years with no issues. I was trying to add a second credit card from US Bank. The other one worked fine. They said disconnect that one and try adding new account. So now neither work. I keep getting "DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN" error message with Chrome and have tried many suggections on how to fix that message.

This is an update to my post from January 16. I was finally able to re-connect U.S. Bank for OSU this morning. It took two tries.

For general information, I am using the Edge browser and am not using a VPN. I did have Norton Internet Security turned on through the entire process, as that has never caused me any problems with either Quicken or the U. S. Bank website.

In the first try, I “enhanced” two aspects of the steps The Keeper outlined. I completely disabled all extensions I use in Edge at the “Settings” page, and I set Edge to allow pop-up’s and re-directs on all sites. I did this instead of only changing these settings for U. S. Bank. In some of my unsuccessful attempts I thought it looked as if the extensions were still active on the sign in pages, even though I thought I had disabled them at the usbank.com level.

I also cleared everything—cache, cookies, site data, etc. for all time.

These actions resulted in accessing the pages that ask to confirm permission for Quicken access and to choose the accounts to be shared with Quicken. However, after selecting the accounts to sync, I received the DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN error page that MDavidson received.

I searched online for a solution and got an AI generated response that suggested five possible solutions to the error. The aggregator attributed Microsoft as its source. I have copied them below. My guess is that these suggested solutions are also applicable to Chrome.

Clearing the DNS cache had not worked, so I tried the second suggestion and that one worked.

After closing Quicken, I went back to the Edge settings page, turned all the browser extensions back on, and turned on the pop-up blocker. However, I set www.usbank.com as an exception, allowing pop-ups and redirects on its site.

I have subsequently signed on to Quicken twice and run OSU both times. All is still working well. Fingers crossed this has fixed the problem.

    "DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN" TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS

    1.Clear DNS Cache

    • Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
    • Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.

    2.Change DNS Servers

    • Open Control Panel.
    • Go to Network and Internet >Network and Sharing Center.
    • Click on Change adapter settings.
    • Right-click your active connection and select Properties.
    • Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties.
    • Choose Use the following DNS server addresses and enter:
      1. Preferred: 8.8.8.8
      2. Alternate: 8.8.4.4
    • Click OK and restart your connection.

    3.Release and Renew IP Address

    • Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
    • Type ipconfig /release and press Enter.
    • Then type ipconfig /renew and press Enter.

    4.Restart DNS Client Service

    • Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
    • Type services.msc and press Enter.
    • Find DNS Client, right-click, and select Restart.

    5.Check Hosts File

    • Open Notepad as an administrator.
    • Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\.
    • Open the hosts file and ensure there are no entries blocking the domain you are trying to access.
