Transaction Dates Change

Quicken Windows Subscription Member
When I use Enter Transaction to enter dividends, I enter the date and the other data and hit enter. When I enter another transaction I change the date but when I hit enter the date changes to the previous date. I also have to validate the file often. Is this a problem with my files etc?

Based on what you have described and having to validate the file often, yes, I would suspect an issue with the file. Some things we can check:
- How long have you noticed this issue happening?
- Does validating clear it up, and it comes back later?
- Is this happening in more than one account, or does it seem to be isolated to a specific account?
- Where is your data file located?
- You can see this by going to File and looking at the bottom of the menu. #1 with a checkmark is the file you are currently in, and the file location will be displayed. The default location is C:>Users>username>Documents>Quicken, and this is where we recommend keeping it.
- Is your file being synced/backed up by any third-party services like OneDrive, Blackblaze, or Carbonite?
- Allowing your active data file to be accessed by services like this can cause damage to the file. It's best to exclude or remove the file from these.
