I have reviewed the multiple open product ideas and applied my votes, however, I didn't find one that fits what I, and many others,, would like to see. I first want to say thanks to Quicken development team for continuing to update the core product with new or improved features. However, I feel that very little focus has been applied to Mac reporting, whereas the Window reporting is feature rich.

Quicken currently does a good job at auto importing investment transactions from external brokerage accounts. In particular does a good job of tracking of stocks, etfs, mutual funds, bonds, and options. More could be done with regard to mergers / symbol name changes, and splits but these are called out in other product ideas so not included here.

I currently use tagging to develop custom reports as well as exporting the entire transaction database to Numbers to get most of the detail I would like but this is all very time consuming, whereas, Quicken could add just a few simple reports and provide this out of the box.

Here is a list of requested report product updates.

  1. Asset Performance Report
    1. Filtering: By Account & By Symbol & By Transaction Type & By Time Period
    2. Columns: Symbol, Description, Shares, Current Price, Average Share Price, Cost Basis, Market Value, Gain/Loss, Income (Dividends & Interest), Return of Capital, Option Income (Put / Call)
    3. Overview: Provide a summed values for all columns Cost Basis … Option Income
  2. Asset Year Performance Report
    1. Same as report 1 however, allow at a minimum two years of performance to be compared.
