Hello @kenkud,
Thank you for sharing your experience and reporting this issue you are running into.
I have not experienced the same behavior in my own Quicken after recent updates. I have some follow-up questions that will hopefully help us to narrow down what could be happening here.
- How are you opening Quicken?
- Are you using the red square application icon, or a more rectangular icon that looks like a sheet of paper with the corner folded down?
- Where is your data file located?
- You can see this by going to File. The first file listed at the bottom of the menu shows the file location.
- The default location for a Quicken data file is C:>Users>username>Documents>Quicken, and this is where we recommend keeping it.
- You can see this by going to File. The first file listed at the bottom of the menu shows the file location.
- Is your data file being synced/backed up by any third-party services like OneDrive, Dropbox, or Blackblaze?
- We do not recommend allowing services like this to access the data file you are actively using, as it can damage the file.
- Approximately how long do you think this issue has been happening?
- Restoring a backup could be a viable troubleshooting option if it hasn't been more than 2-3 months.
Let me know what you find!
