Ability to Archive Options
If you trade options frequently, you get large number of expired options cluttering up your securities list. Hiding the symbol is one solution, but depending on what you are doing the hidden ones show up. Archiving the affected accounts works to allow you to delete them from your active account, but his comes with a host of other issues.
I suggest you create a second data table specifically for expired options or unused securities. This would be better than making them hidden while still letting you keep the data.
My preferred work around for option is to use a catchall symbol "zzOldOptions" I created. When an option has expired, I change the options transactions to the catchall symbol. I can then delete the actual option symbol because it no longer has any transactions against it. It isn't ideal for capital gains reports but less of an issue for me that the long list of securities. I also don't use the price history for expired options for anything. If you automate this type of solution that would also be workable from my perspective.
