Need Help with Change of Ticker in Quicken

One of my company stocks just changed their ticker on the NASDAQ…so basically as a generic example, going from XXXX to YYYY.

How would I manually log this change of Ticker Symbol for my share holding in my register? The register is an IRA account at Schwab in Quicken. I am running Quicken Home & Business.

Thank You!

Most simplistically, this just an edit Security Details and changing the ticker there. The program will ask you about a) transferring the price history to the new ticker (normally a yes) and and b) deleting the prices associated with the old ticker (defaults to no but I usually opt for yes these days).

You probably should back up the file first since you are unfamiliar with the process. That’s a just in case step.

@q_lurker Thank you for the response. Could you please provide the correct procedure to "edit Security Details"? Where would I access that function? Within the register itself or somewhere in the menu bar?

    Thank you.

@q_lurker Hi again. Quick follow up…I found that function under the gear menu in the top right of the registry :

Register Gear Menu > Securities List

And then edited the ticker there per your instructions. This seemed to have worked well. I checked off yes to the price history and left the delete box unchecked. It seemed to work well.

Thank you very much for your guidance!
