Quicken changed a transaction date from 2025 to 2001

Today, I noticed that Quicken changed a "reconciled" transaction from December 2025 to 2001. It was very strange. I was able to fix this transaction but I am worried about it happening again and also what about all my other accounts.

I don't understand how Quicken can change a "reconciled" transaction - it should be locked.

Are you sure you didn't accidentally overtype the Date of this transaction by typing something like '01011' … I managed to do this recently myself and it resulted in '01/01/2001'. Butterfingers at work! 😒

Please check that, in Edit / Preferences / Notify all settings (except the fourth one which is at your discretion) are checkmarked. You want to get warnings to pop up, in this case for settings #1 and 2.

I have the notify all the options and Quicken prompts you if you enter a transaction over a year old. I had just reconciled my December statement so it was correct a few days ago.

It could have been butterfingers but Quicken has done some weird things since the September 2025 software update.

I am now checking all my accounts.
