Portfolio view - Cash line (Q Mac)

I’d like to know the source of a pesky $2.57 credit balance that appears under the “Market Value” column in the “Cash” line in my Investing Portfolio view

What is it and how are these balances generated?

I’ve tried to get rid of it by posting a debit “Adjustment” in my “Transactions” view.  That gave me a $0.00 balance in that view, but it persists in Portfolio view.

What does the Balance column say as of today in the Transaction view? This should agree with the Cash line in the Portfolio view. If not, check the "Date as of" field in the Portfolio view and ensure it's set to today's date.

As far as where the $2.57 is coming from, you'd need to check your brokerage's website to see what it shows as the cash balance in the account and transactions that affect cash balance. Sometimes (I've seen this with Fidelity) a transaction doesn't make it from Fidelity to Quicken and that throws off the cash balance.

RickO, great to hear from you again.

Yes, it could be date related. I'll check and let you know.

RickO, I forgot to mention that I have been using the account as a proxy broker account, capital interest, fees etc. I know this is irregular, but it has worked for me so far. I think Quicken has taken the tiny cash balance, and calculated a "Market Value".

I've checked "the "Date as of" field in the Portfolio view", of the investments and they are fine, todays date.

I will keep a much closer eye on the dates in the future though.

I'm content now. Thanks once again for your interest and advice.
