New Quicken & Discover Card (possibly others) Terms & Agreements. Beware.
Quicken is telling me I need to update my connection for my Discover card. Does any of the below scare anyone? This seems like a huge reason to now cancel my Discover Card, which I've had forever, and not trust Quicken with my data. Specifically the point about they will share your data with "third parties?" But it's on you to contact the "third parties." Who are they? What does this all mean in plain English? I do not use Quicken on the web. Just the Windows app. "Your data is kept private." But I can "unlink" at any time. But then if you read the "terms" is paints a slightly different picture. "After you authorize Discover to share your account information with a Third Party." So, if I'm reading this correctly, unless I de-link my account from Quicken, there is still an opportunity for them to give my account/balance/credit/purchase information to third parties, but I need to tell these unknown third parties I don't want them to have my information, but I don't know who the third parties are. This seems very intrusive, and a reason to drop 35 years of using Discover Card, and maybe 20 years worth of Quicken. Maybe I'm overreacting but this seems like a major breach of trust. I will not be doing this at this time. I'll just manually enter Discover transactions for now. Thoughts?
