When setting up a credit card bill reminder, under amount, add an option for "Last Reconciled Balance".

For my credit cards, I pay the amount due each month, not the total account balance. The amount due corresponds to the reconciled amount from the previous statement. This should provide a more accurate estimate for cash flow.
