Quicken is currently unable to verify financial institution information for download
I've been using a program called "CSV2QFX" to convert ".csv" file to a ".QFX" file for many years. A few days ago, I began receiving the message from Quicken "Quicken is currently unable to verify financial institution information for download".
After many days of frustration including a call to Quicken technical support (they couldn't help), and much trial-and-error, I resolved it!
Here's how:
Pull-down: "set account ID and type" set this to "checking"
"Quicken target" set this to "regular QFX"
This works every time!
I hope this saves someone else 4 days of frustration!

Are you using the US or the Canadian version of Quicken for Windows?
Which bank are you downloading this QFX file from?
When opening the QFX file with Notepad or some other ASCII text editor, what's the bank ID number in the file's header records <BID> and/or <INTU.BID>?
Your bank must have recently made a change to download file support. As a result, its control record was updated or removed from the FIDIR.TXT control file … hence the "unable to verify" error message. We need to find you a new Bank ID number to use in the QFX file.
