After restoring my quicken file, I had to reset all connections to financial institutions.
Afterwards, some credit card accounts had incorrect balances as did the checking account from which those cards are paid.
The cause was that only one side of some transfers were recorded. The transfer account, that appears in the Category column, was changed to a split transfer with only the one account in the split transfer category column. The other side of the transaction did not appear in its' account.
After identifying the affected transactions, I re-categorized them correctly and the account balances were also corrected.
In some transactions, the problem occurred in the checking account and in others it occurred in the credit card account.
