Fidelity Accounts with Cash Money Market and Cash Mutual Fund
I've seen a lot of threads on this one, some are dated and not quite the same. I've had difficulty figuring out how to properly set up some of these accounts.
This is a brokerage account I use as my checking account. The account has a holding called "Cash, Held in Money Market" as well as another mutual fund FZDXX where cash occasionally goes to earn a little higher interest. When I add the Quicken account from scratch, it nevers seems to align with what I see in Quicken.
When the account is first added and transactions come in, the default is to not have a separate cash account. I change it to have cash in a separate account because I want to see a regular register where my expenses can have categories.
I've looked into the feature to treat the money market as cash, but that still does not seem to work. I am starting my Quicken file from scratch so I can delete the account and start over easily if anyone has any suggestions on the proper way to set up this account.
