I just paid for a prorated update from Mac Classic to the premier version. I am trying to use the Capital Gains Calculator to figure get an estimate on taxes I'd owe. I have entered the federal and state tax rates. I have selected my Schwab account, chosen both short and long term returns and gainers and losers. I can't enter anything on the screen. The program doesn't draw the data from my Schwab account.

Solved that problem, but not the cumulative data back to 2016, only shows from 2023. Tried reinstall backup, can't find it.

Does your transactional history go back that far? If so, is the older data in retirement accounts excluded from the estimator by default?

Works perfectly for me with Schwab. Do you / did you have 'detailed trackiing' or whatever it is called set up for your Schwab account? All cost basis amounts forever should be there.

Thanks for the comments. Trying to restore the file and getting Premier version was a hassle last night. But the upgrades in Premier are now in my file. I deleted the Schwab account in Quicken and then restored the tracking. It came in but I had to enter costs from 2007 and 2008 manually. At least I could then enter the missing data. It was available in Schwab but too old to import. Now the capital gains estimator is working and matches the data in Schwab. I can see what I'd pay in capital gains if I sold any of my stock holdings. That's exactly what I wanted. I was afraid I'd lose the entire file like I did in 2015; at that time I was using a cloud backup company. I was so frustrated I was going to give up using Quicken, a program I'd been using on a Mac since it first came out. I started over in January 2016 after losing years of data. Thankfully I'm not facing that this time. I'm up and running now.

Glad to hear you got it working. I found the feature really handy at the end of last year when deciding on wash sales.
