Schwab & Fidelity downloaded transactions STILL missing

I'm posting this to the community more in the hope that it can help someone else struggling with the looooong running issue that Quicken has with downloads from these FIs, than that the Quicken people will be able to actually do anything to uncluster f* their software…..

Here's what finally worked for me, as a workaround:

I have the latest Quicken Business & Personal version, patched to (what is as of this moment) the latest release from Intuit, which was supposed to fix some of these issues, I gather: Build 27.1.66.28 Version R66.28. Windows 11, version 25H2 patched to the latest windows update, running on a Lenovo Yoga Pro 9 w 32GB of RAM and a 2.3 GHz Intel Core Ultra 9 — i.e. plenty beefy enough to run Quicken on.

I've gone thru the help articles to uncheck this box and check that box.
I've reset / reauthorized, deactivated and reactivated web downloads these Schwab accounts more times in the past year than I can count.
Nothing has worked.

Quicken would connect, see transactions and balances — and then not download any of them. (My guess is that Quick thinks [erroneously] that I have already previously, in the other failed attempts, downloaded the transactions, and so thinks it should only take the transactions since the last [failed] attempt, a doom loop it cannot seem to pull itself out of.)

What finally worked for me was to
1) make a whole new fresh and clean Quicken data file, add the Schwab accounts (again) there and enable them for web download only in that new clean data file,
2) download as many of the old transactions as that first download from the FI will let you — then 3) move the latest set of transactions that you want to update your main Quicken data file with into another account (carefully and uniquely named, e.g. "XXXX acct xfers") in that new clean data file.
4) Once the latest set of transactions you're after are in that new "xfer" account, then you can export that set of them in a QDF file.
5) Then you can go back into your main Quicken data file where download is not working, and import the QDF Transfer file (hence the careful naming of the accounts) with that set of transactions you're after into your main Quicken data file.
6) Once those new investment transactions have been moved (imported) into your main data file, where they will show up as that "XXXX acct xfers" account, you can then
7) move those transactions within that main data file from the account used for the transfer (export/import) into the correct (download-impaired) Schwab account there in your main data file.

Ugly and time consuming, but as a hacky workaround, effective enough. You'll have to ignore a warning or extraneous dialog box or two…. But better than manually entering 2-3 months of data at a stretch across multiple accounts.

(The ol' export/import — kinda like we did back in the old days: I've been using Quicken since the late 20th century, in one form or another, and despite promises of improvements this FI download issue has gotten progressively, steadily worse… each time with Intuit pointing the finger at their FI partners.)

What I'd really like is for Intuit to finally just fix Quicken downloading from Schwab, Fidelity, etc., resetting whatever flags needed in the data file (and at this point I would argue that the flags and last download dates are not tracked with sufficient reliability in the Quicken file/data structure, to be relied upon — so you folks probably need a different, new more robust method), so that it works to once again download the Schwab data into my main Quicken data file! How hard can that be?!

[Removed-Rant]

Do you just not test FI downloading at all?
(What good is your software without data from the FIs? You're kidding yourselves if you think this problem doesn't degrade a customer's experience of your software…. FI downloading HAS to work. Aggregating that data is 90% of the whole point of Quicken!)
A simple search of this forum will turn up a long list of the many, many customers for whom this has been a long-running issue (circa 2021-2024, to say nothing of 2025 and 2026)…..

    Hello @rfkahan1012,

    Thanks for sharing your experience.

I know this kind of issue with missing transactions can be frustrating to work through. Yes, we conduct extensive testing of our product, and I am sorry that issues still arise despite our attempts to prevent them.

I appreciate you outlining what ended up working for you. That’s really helpful for others who might be running into the same problem with Schwab or Fidelity downloads.

Thanks again for taking the time to post your solution.

This is beyond frustrating. Having a multiple of Fidelity accounts, it now seems I have inherited a new part-time job to manually enter transactions in Quicken and do a line-by-line reconciliation.
