Cost basis errors

I have been having some issue with cost basis error corruption. I have 2 specific investments that are experiencing this currently. I reviewed the transactions and they are recorded correctly in the transaction log as they are from the brokerage. I've gone through the process to validate, fix and repair the file with no luck. I'm not sure how I can fix this and would like any advice how to make it right other than just sell the investments and never purchase again.

The current % gain/loss for Ishares Gold (RING) at brokerage for these 2 shares is -.40%.

Please disregard. I found a buy and sell of these 2 investments on the same day and for some reason it skewed the cost basis. I moved the buy order to the previous day for each and that corrected the issue. I don't understand why that matters but it did. It must be a sequencing issue but I could not change the time of the transaction so used the day before and it corrected.

@tkstaple the default lot selection for sales if you do not specify the lots is first in first out (FIFO). That could cause the issue you saw. To prevent the issue going forward, if you have sells on the same day as buys, you can specify the specific lots to be included in the sell transaction.
