Copying the category from the previous split line in a split transaction

I'm a veteran Quicken for Windows user (back to MSDOS days) and have recently switched to Mac. I'm on Quicken Classic Business & Personal, version 8.5.2.

In Windows, if I had a transaction with multiple split lines, I could copy the category from the previous split line with a keystroke. I can't find any way to do that on the Mac. For example, I just bought a pair of prescription glasses. I have a transaction with split lines for the frames, the lenses, the lens coating, etc. I want each of them coded to Medical:Vision. It is unnecessarily clumsy to retype the category (or as much of it as it takes to identify the unique subcategory).

Can anyone help me with a keyboard shortcut or other suggestion? Thanks.

I don't know of any keyboard shortcut for this (short of using a keyboard shortcut utility to customize one). I would just copy the category to the clipboard when you enter it the first time, then paste it when you get to the category field on the next split line.

You can use Control-C and Control-V to copy & paste the Category (Control-C once on the first line to copy and then Control-V on each subsequent line to paste).
