Need Improvements and Contingency For Options and downloads because of ISSUES.
I have accounts at Charles Schwab, Fidelity and Wells Fargo. I had to do a massive rebuild because something got corrupt in security list (20 years of data). Working on the Wells Fargo account and getting major headache.
Note: Using the Wells Fargo Clearing House (w Direct Connect) selection. Finding the issue seems to be the naming of the security and the symbol for option.
Just a quick list how the symbols and security naming varies from each brokerage. See how they vary.
FIDELITY
Security Name: CALL (DKNG) DRAFTKINGS INC NEW JAN 21 28 $37.5 (100 SHS) (ISSUE remove symbol "(DKNG)" from security name)
Symbol: DKNG280121C37.5 (PREFER this symbol the most easiest to read by symbol)
Security Name: CALL (ACN) ACCENTURE PLC JAN 15 27 $260 (100 SHS) (ISSUE remove symbol "(ACN) from security name)
Symbol: ACN270115C260 (PREFER this symbol the most easiest to read by symbol)
CHARLES SCHWAB
Security: CALL ARCHER AVIATION INC$4 EXP 01/15/27 (ISSUE NEEDS JUST A SPACE AFTER SECURITY NAME ON STRIKE "$")
Symbol: ACHR 270115C00004000 (ISSUE A LITTLE HARDER TO READ VS FIDELITY)
WELLS FARGO (Wells Fargo Clearing Services - Direct Connect)
Security: CALL ASTERA LABS INC 004052653 (ISSUE - NEEDS EXPIRATION AND STRIKE IN NAME This makes it vary hard on manual entries even when you say include symbol names on the registers of quicken. The symbol will disappear when its the highlighted line)
Symbol: .ALAB2617D150 (THE PERIOD "." PREVENTS GROUPING WITH THE SECURITY ON COVERED CALLS)
Deciphered Format
.ALAB2617D150 = ALAB April 17, 2026 $150 Call
• ALAB → Astera Labs, Inc.
• 26 → Year 2026
• 17 → Quicken’s date code for the 17th
• D → April (matches your letter pattern exactly)
• 150 → Strike = $150.00
This is a call option expiring on the standard third-Friday monthly expiration: April 17, 2026.
Fully updated letter-to-month pattern (2026)

ISSUE: The Naming and symbol is not consistent across brokerages. Question who controls this and the formating? Quicken or Brokerage? I don't like to edit (because don't want quicken file issue and like to avoid) because I would like to see consistency and readability.
My preference is the Charles Schwab Security Naming with the Fidelity Symbol and both their methods are better than Wells Fargo as for as I can see for readability and sorting. I have an account with a lot of covered calls were I would like to put the option next to the security on reports. The quicken link option (in security detail) does not seem to work in the grouping for reports in my experience.
If quicken controls or can do some type of mapping or renaming of security name and symbol upon downloading of data (during original setup of brokerage) in a specific user format would be great. At least on the security name where there is no option info in the name like Wells Fargo like adding the symbol automatically to the end of the name would be better then nothing and I would be able to tell the difference on a drop down window and on reports.
ANOTHER ISSUE: Side note for Wells Fargo only downloads like 3 months on original setup?? The others will go back like 2yrs. Wells Fargo has a QFX (for up to 180 days) but getting error on a clean data file. I like to go back further from brokerage and don't know if there is a work about. I have data in old quicken file which I wanted to avoid because of past security list corruption but probably no other choice - just won't bring in security list (past issues with "Unidentified Security" think its because of corrupt security list) on an qif export from old file to new file.
Note: On downloads, when quicken does not recogize the security (even though the security exists with download from another brokerage, I am having quicken download it so it's link to brokerage security download, seems like this may be best way?
Other wish lists, think on downloads for options should have strike price and expiration data filled in on a quicken field (kind of like bonds but info for options), also on the security view to have it automatically filled in with the corresponding stock security symbol. With this info like to be able to sort by expiration date and be able to highlight options in the money (ITM) vs OTM (out of the money.
Anyways, any feedback would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance!
