Budget options in Quicken for Mac

After decades of using Quicken for Windows, my 2-year old Dell crashed, giving me the final incentive to switch to Quicken for Mac. I ONLY used a PC to run Quicken for Windows.

So far, I love it, but I do miss the ability to update my budget in the same screen as the "view budget" which compares actual vs budget. It was also nice to see the variance onscreen, and not just in reports.

Wondering if anyone else feels this way, and if there are plans to update the functionality in the future. I tried switching from Windows to Mac once before a few years ago when I bought my first Mac, but the clunkiness of the budget feature is what made me go back to Windows after one day!

    Hi @SabrinaK,

Thank you for sharing your feedback! You may already be aware, but just in case:

In Quicken for Mac, you can edit values directly within the budget view. The budget screen also displays both actual and budgeted amounts, and you can customize the graph by adjusting the global settings to show either actual spending or remaining amounts.

That said, we understand that the experience is still more separated compared to Quicken for Windows.

If you’d like to see improvements, such as editing and viewing in a single, more integrated screen with clearer variance, you’re welcome to create an Idea post in the Mac Product Ideas section of the Community. These posts help other users vote on features and allow our product team to better track interest and prioritize future updates.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts and help improve Quicken!
