VOOG stock split incorrectly increased it value
This recent stock split of this ETF increased the account value. Number of Shares increased as it should in a split and price goes down but total stock value should remain the same. That is NOT what happened. My total value went way up due to this split. I wish it were accurate but alas it is not. There is some kind of bug within Quicken. Please advise how to resolve it or let me know when it will be fixed.

@crissnyder You should only have seen this "fluke" on the 21st and it should be correct on the 22nd. That's what happened for me.

As of 4/24/2026 I still see the discrepancy after doing an online update. I think I will have to manually modify Quicken so that the share quantity and total market price is in line with what I am seeing on my financial institution's website.

BTW, same issue with ETF with symbol MGK

You need to edit the split transactions to correct the values (i.e. 6 to 1 for VOOG and 5 to 1 for MGK) and then delete the "Added" shares transactions IF such transactions were downloaded. The responses to this post should apply to your situation on how to correct it which says the same thing. Hope this helps.

Thanks BK! I just used the "adjust share balance" function within Quicken to = share balance from financial institution. Your way is probably more accurate, but I think my way renders the same results. Anything I should be concerned about doing it the way I did?

@crissnyder , You are welcome. What works for you is what matters IMO.
What happened to many of us during this split is that the FI provided some "preliminary" data based on their existing programs. If you had waited to do an OSU in Quicken a few days later, most likely you would've received a single correct split transaction. Which is what @cyberphile commented earlier as well.
BTW it is not "my way", rather it is a single clear transaction, and later in the future you don't have to think about why you added an adjustment. Regards.

- You are going to need to correct this.
- You have told us what is wrong - share count or price/share or both or neither.
- You haven’t told us what transactions your financial institution sent that showed up in Quicken.
- You haven’t told us what transactions Quicken created when you told it to adjust the balance.
- Without information, I can’t offer ideas for how to correct.
- But as @BK suggested, if it works for you, carry on.
