Application freezes when editing scheduled split transactions since 9.0.1
Since the 9.0 update, the application consistently freezes in the following scenario:
- Click "Edit Schedule" on a scheduled transaction
- Switch to the "Details" tab
- Click the "Split" button next to Category
- In the Split dialog, don't change anything, just click "Save"
- The Split dialog closes
- After a second or two, the application freezes ("spinning beach ball" cursor) and must be Force Quit
Things I've noticed:
- Clicking "Cancel" from the Split dialog does NOT result in the freeze
- This happens consistently for all scheduled transactions, regardless of whether they are split transactions or not
- This happens consistently across accounts (of all types) and even across multiple independent data files
- Version 9.0.1 does not resolve the issue
This is a pretty serious bug as it prevents editing of scheduled split transactions. Please feel free to reach out to me for additional information if necessary.
Thanks,
Andrew

I can duplicate this if I select "Edit Schedule" on a transaction reminder in an account register. If I go to the Bills & Income tab and edit a split from there, it doesn't lock up. So there is at least a work-around.
I submitted a bug report through "Report a Problem" on the Help menu, I encourage you to do likewise.1 -
Thanks Jon! I never really use Bills & Income, but the workaround you mentioned seems to work for me as well. I have also reported the issue through the Help menu. Appreciate the follow up!

I can replicate this if I enter the split edit dialog in the following three ways:
- Click the Schedule button in the toolbar, then Edit Schedule
- Right (control) click on the transaction and select Edit Schedule from the contextual menu
- Click Edit Schedule from the Transactions menu on the top menu bar
Note that when using these three methods, you must click the Details tab to get to the Details pane and that when you do so, the Details pane is cut off on the right side (which is probably causing the issue).
If I enter the Details edit screen by double clicking the transaction, then clicking Edit Schedule in the menu bar under the transaction, the issue does not occur (probably because this opens the edit already on the Details pane). So that's another workaround.

Hi @ac512 , @Jon , and @RickO ,
Thank you for reaching out to the Quicken Community and for bringing this to our attention.
We’ve confirmed that the issue is reproducible on our end. I have created an investigation ticket and included the details, the provided logs, and the shared workarounds. I will also forward this information to the appropriate team for further review.
At this time, we do not have an ETA for a resolution. For your reference, the ticket number is CBT-1119.
Thank you!
