Title: Attachment paperclip icon not showing unless I force refresh (reproducible)
I’m seeing a consistent issue with attachments in Quicken Classic Business & Personal (Windows) and wanted to see if others can reproduce this.
Version: R67.7 Build 27.1.67.7
Platform: Windows 11 Pro
Issue
When I add an attachment to a transaction, the paperclip icon does not always appear—even though the attachment is successfully saved and accessible.
Steps to reproduce
- Open any transaction
- Add an attachment
- Save
Result
- Sometimes the paperclip icon appears immediately
- Other times it does NOT appear, even though the attachment is present
Workaround (100% reproducible)
- Add a second attachment
- Immediately delete the second attachment
Result:
- The original attachment’s paperclip icon appears every time
This suggests the attachment indicator isn’t updating until a second write/update event occurs.
What I’ve already done
- Moved my Quicken data file out of OneDrive to a local path (
C:\Quicken\) - Created a clean copy of the file (File → Copy)
- Disabled Mobile & Web Sync
- Confirmed OneDrive warning is gone
- Verified attachments always save correctly
Attachments are stored under:
C:\ProgramData\Quicken\Inet\...\Attachments\ (internal storage mode, no “Attachments” preference visible)
Current status
- Issue persists after eliminating OneDrive and sync factors
- Appears reproducible and independent of environment
Impact
- Unclear whether attachment was added without extra verification
- Requires additional steps (workaround)
- Slows workflow
Question
Can anyone else reproduce this in R67.x?
Is this a known issue with attachment indicator refresh?
I’ve already submitted logs and a detailed report via “Report a Problem,” but posting here for visibility and comparison with other users.
Happy to share screenshots if helpful.
