Why is my top level category showing "red" (presumably, over budget)?

I am seeking to understand why this main category (Donations) is showing as "red" when I am under budget for both the month and year? Note: I do not have any transaction categorized as the Top Level Category (donations). Thoughts? I see this pretty regularly and cannot figure it out. Thx for any help!

You may want to try clicking on the red bar which will bring up a pop-up window, click on transactions and see if it shows what is happening to cause the variance between sub-categories and total category.
