I posted this earlier here:
and apologize for not following up with more information. The problem persists to date and settings of the accounts that I wish to download are not saved when I select "apply". I've done the validate and super-validate exactly as described most recently today. Additionally my password for one financial provider - Vanguard - is also not saved and in addition to selecting the accounts to download I also re-enter the Vanguard password each time, check the save box, and it's still not saved.
Quicken Anja asked these questions:
- Where is your Quicken data file stored? Is it on your local C:
drive, or is it on a cloud-synced or external location like OneDrive,
Dropbox, or a USB drive? - Are you using a VPN while updating your accounts? If so, does disabling it make any difference?
- Do you have any antivirus or malware protection software running that may be interfering with Quicken? If so, have you tried temporarily disabling it to see if the issue persists?
- When did you first notice this difference between the screens?
- Had
there been any recent changes to your system or Quicken setup before
this started—such as updates, new software installations, or other
adjustments?
Answers:
Quicken data is stored on C drive.
I don't use a VPN when at home (almost all of the time) but occasionally take the mac on a trip and use SurfShark in those occasional uses.
I have not tried temporarily disabling AVG yet but I may do so and will report back the results if I do this. I doubt that AVG "sees" into the virtual Windows machine.
I've had this issue since December 2025 and maybe a month or so earlier than that. I have not had any significant system changes other than keeping up with both mac OS updates and allowing Windows 11 to update itself as needed.
My system info:
Quicken Classic Deluxe for Windows, Version R67.7, Build 27.1.67.7
(wouldn't it be nice if we could copy/paste this info?)
Windows 11 Home running within a Parallels virtual machine on macOS Tahoe 26.5 on a 2021 MacBook Pro with M1 Pro chip
Windows has Windows Defender as its antivirus and QW.exe is a permitted app under Controlled Folder Access
On the mac side I'm using Avast antivirus.
