Do not delete my Quicken account

Just delete the dataset

It seems that when I was at my prior address, I made it a little too comfortable for “trusted third parties” to view my data, and they are used to viewing it with my permission.

I want to temporarily track in Excel and will return to Quicken sometime after they stop asking

This morning, out of the blue, my doctor emailed me about “excessive spending” and suggested mind-numbing drugs. I did not ask him. It is time for me to take financial privacy more seriously.

Hello @RobWilk,

Thank you for sharing your comments and concerns.

A Dataset is the "cloud" version of your data file. This is what is used to transmit the information in your Data File to Quicken Mobile & Web apps. I think this is probably the data you are referring to and want deleted. You can actually delete this yourself, and we have a Support Article that covers how.

Instructions

Go to Quicken > Preferences
Go to the Connected Services tab and click See All Cloud Accounts to see the dataset nickname(s).

3. To delete a dataset from the cloud, click the minus icon at the bottom of the page...

...and then confirm.

Note: You cannot delete the dataset that is currently open. You will need to switch to a different file or open a new empty file and delete it from there.
