Hi
Have been getting error 2000 with no reason when I try to update Citibank cards through direct connect. Have tried all suggested troubleshooting and am still getting error. Is anyone aware of this error and the reason? Any resolution?
Thanks
Same here with Citibank.

Same here. Multiple days.

4 failures yesterday and 2 today including one just now. Server message says "failure". Just submitted connection status page.
Thank you @Tom Bonner,
Same here. Two of three Citibank accounts. Same user login on all 3.
Same here. It started 3 days ago. This is using Quicken on a MAC
Yep…same here. Quicken Mac…Citi Card can't connect on direct connection for 3 days. Today I disconnected and reconnected…still not working.
Same error. My account at Citi has the Quicken app registered and the Citi support says it is a Quicken issue. Channel OFX, Error Code: 2000, Server Message: Failure, Tye: Direct Connect FI
Same here, started 3 days ago also. Just to clarify, I did try to disconnect and reconnect the account and it authorized without a problem and showed connected, but still no transactions are downloaded or updated.
Hi all,
Thank you for reporting this issue. Our team is currently investigating the error. While we do not have an estimated timeframe for resolution at this time, we will share any updates as soon as new information becomes available.
Thank you for your patience and understanding while we work to resolve this issue.
Same thing 3-4 days so far. I just checked with Citibank & they say there is nothing wrong with my account. The error is coming from Quicken
I haven't spotted a thread discussing the error in Quicken for Windows.
If I reauthorize there, that process sets up Express Web Connect (or maybe EWC+, I forget which), and it works. I don't know of a way to reach the advanced settings to choose another connection method during the Reauthorize steps.
So, I deactivate it, then Add Account, search for citi, click Advanced options, then when I am given the choice, I select Direct Connect.
The linking process WORKS. It says it downloaded 3 days of transactions. And I see the account is set up for Direct Connect - in theory.
But then, the very next download attempt fails, with OL-301-A.
Is there no Windows thread for this? It's likely the same exact problem - Direct Connect is failing. Please advise if there is a thread about this for Windows too.
I'm getting the same error—haven't successfully connected in a few days.
Same error. Quicken for Mac.
Still an ongoing problem. Costco Citi Card -
"We were unable to connect. Message from Citi Cards: Failure (2000)"
Same problem with Citi Costco and Citi Double cards. However, not with Citi Aadvantage card.
Problem fixed (for the moment!) by disconnecting and reconnecting the account. Suggest folks try that simple fix.
I already disconnected and reconnected before posting here. So didn't fix for me.
Deactivating and then reactivating will switch you to the Quicken Connect method (you lose Direct Connect). Quicken Connect seems to be working.
But for now, people still want to use the direct connect method, which Quicken here has stated to the best of their knowledge should still be supported.
If, after deactivating, you re-add Citi Cards by going through the Add Account dialog, you can set up direct connect again - and it will be "successful" until the next time you do an update, which will then fail with error 2000, bringing you back to where you started.
If the answer is that, unbeknownst to Quicken, Citi no longer supports direct connect, then settling for Quicken Connect will be the only solution.

CitiCards still showing 2000 error, May 22, 2026.
Any Updates? It's been over a week now since my CitiCards have updated.
This is Q
Using the "Add Account" function and then linking to the existing Quicken account seems to have worked for me. Thanks for the suggestion.
