Trying to add a Synchrony Credit Card goes to Synchrony Bank web site for authentication

I have existing Synchrony Credit Cards that have no issue. When I want to add another one, the authentication goes to synchronybank.com instead of synchrony.com, so my authentication fails. Is there any way to force my new account to authenticate on the correct web site?

Could you please let me know the specific name of the Synchrony credit card account you are trying to add in Quicken? That information may help us identify the correct financial institution instance to use.

In the meantime, if your financial institution offers the option to download transactions in QFX (Web Connect) format, I recommend trying that method. Importing a QFX file can often reveal the correct financial institution name that should be used when setting up the account in Quicken.

Downloading a QFX file from your financial institution's website

1. Log in to your financial institution's website.
2. Select the account you wish to download transactions for. The download option is usually on the transactions page for an account.
3. Select the download link. This is usually represented by a download symbol using a down arrow such as
4. You may need to select the download format. Look for the format QFX or Web Connect.
5. You will also have to specify the Date Range (Start Date / End Date). You may also need to select the account or accounts you wish to download. If you are updating your transactions, you'll want to have a start date the day of or the day after your last recorded transaction in Quicken.
6. Once you have filled out all of your information there should be a button to select such as Download or Export or Start to start downloading the transaction.
   The transaction will download into the default directory/folder for your browser. This is usually the Downloads directory.

Steps to import QFX

1. Back up your Quicken Data File.
2. Go to the File menu and select File Import → Quicken Transfer Format (.QFX) File. The Import .QFX File screen will appear.
3. Use the Browse button to find and select the file you want to import.
4. Click Open or double-click the file to import.
5. When prompted, choose Link to an existing account and select the correct account from the dropdown menu. (Alternatively, choose Add a new account if you are importing data for a new credit card or bank account).
