Hi all — like many of you, the connection between Quicken and NY Saves (nysaves.org - Vanguard's 529 account) stopped working earlier this year.
Today I did some investigation and it turns out that NY Saves seems to have introduced a new feature that allows you to set a separate aggregate username and password on the site, for use with Quicken and other 3rd party software. This is separate from the username and password you use to log in via the web portal.
In my case, NY Saves created a new username for me but did not create a password. If you don't explicitly create a password, then you won't be able to connect via Quicken.
Here's how to set the password.
- Log on to nysaves.org via a web browser
- Go to "Profile & Documents"
- Select the "Password & Security Features" tab
- Next to "Manage Financial Aggregator Access" select "Edit"
- You should see a new Aggregator username already created
- Set a new Aggregator password
- Use these credentials in Quicken Connect to re-establish the connection
I'm using Quicken Classic Deluxe for Mac Version 9.0.3. Hope this helps.
