I recently opened a pure "Synchrony Premier Mastercard" (not a unique store brand such as Discount Tire and many others). Quicken FAILS to connect using all 3 of the most likely connections available to me (yes, I am very carefully typing in the correct credentials to my web account):
- Synchrony Mastercard; links to "mastercard.syf.com"
- Synchrony Bank Credit Cards; links to "synchronybank.com"
- Synchrony Financial Mastercard; links to "synchronycredit.com"
I have seen several other problems related to Synchrony card logins including different store brand cards such as (Synchrony) Discount Tire, which I have. This is a known problem to Quicken and Quicken has been working on this issue for several, perhaps many, months now with no resolution in sight. I have seen it mentioned that Synchrony has millions of credit card customers so this probably impacts thousands of Quicken users which is a BIG DEAL to each of us.
It seems to me that the issue is related to the Synchrony credit card "universal login" which shows both of my Synchrony credit cards on their web site and then I select which credit card I want to work with to see transactions, make a payment, etc.
Synchrony Technical Support has assured me that their system supports Quicken transaction downloads so Quicken software engineers should be able to work directly with Synchrony to establish the correct connection so that our login is successful for any/all of the Synchrony credit cards that Quicken users have.
I have decided to open my own new thread on this issue to hopefully gain more traction on getting this fixed once and for all.
PS: I am an electronics engineer by degree, have worked with large computer systems my entire career in addition to being a Quicken user going all the way back to the early DOS days so I'm pretty sure I know what I am doing with Quicken and I want this problem fully RESOLVED in the near future. I am using (Windows-11 Pro) Quicken Classic Premier R67.10 for what its worth.
