OK, long term Quicken Classic Premier user (now Win 11 desktop). I wanted to simply do an update and Quicken wanted me to login. I gave it the password and got an "invalid login or password"… I tried the exact same credentials on quicken.com - worked just fine.
After several attempts, I tried calling - NOPE - not open on weekends. I found the chat - and discovered in that conversation that Quicken was unhappy about me using a VPN. We will leave aside for right now whether that is sensible or not. Now, I am locked out and can't pay bills. I was told try again in 3-4 hours. IF that doesn't work - wait until Monday and get a hold of the escalations team.. Sigh -that should be fun.
FIRST, why does it work on quicken.com, but not on the desktop (same VPN was on for both).
SECOND, why in the world does a company the size of quicken not have full support on weekends? An awful lot of small business folks critically depend on being able to access their info.
THIRD, why not a useful error message? (I could have gotten off the VPN after the first try) - as a long time software architect, I HATE useless error messages… Even the streaming services tell you they won't support a VPN access (for a completely different reason).
Truly annoyed - wasting my time and blocking critical financial work…. Sigh
