Slow Entering Transactions

Windows 11 laptop. The transaction entry time is very slow. Reading what I can about it, but don't think my file is very big (compared to some), local drive, etc, etc.

Seems like you have to be a rocket scientist to go through any of the recommended steps, and still doesn't sound like users who try them are getting significant improvement.

I would think that transaction entry is a basic step for Quicken, and it should be quick anyway without having to reboot, restart, archive, etc.. But people have been complaining about it for quite some time, with no real action from Quicken to improve the product itself. Paying good money here, but the quality of the product is degrading. At some point, we give up and take our money elsewhere…

I have some follow-up questions for you:

• Are you entering transactions manually and experiencing this slowness?
• Is this occurring when accepting downloaded transactions into your register?
• Can you explain what exactly is taking longer?
  • Accept All, Accepting one at a time, moving between fields when manually entering, saving, etc
• Where is your data file located?
  • If you go to File, the first file listed near the bottom of the menu is the one you are currently in. The file path should be listed there, and that is what we are looking for.
• Is your file being synced/backed up by any third-party services like Dropbox, OneDrive, or Carbonite?
• How long has this issue been happening?
• Were there any significant changes around the same time that this issue started?
  • Computer updates, Quicken updates, computer crash, etc.

The more information you can provide, the better!
