Quicken Freezing New Mac Backup

Question

I am running Tahoe 26.5.1 with Quicken Classic v 9.0.3

I'm setting up a new Mac with migration assistant.

Quicken opens and works fine until I try to select the location for the backup file (with or without automatic backups). Then Q freezes with spinning ball, and I have to force quit.

I completely uninstalled Quicken and rebooted, then reinstalled. Same issue. I've tried choosing my old file and "restore from backup." I delete the app and the Q folder in /User/Library/Application Support.

I got this solution from Inradius 8/12/25 thread. Didn't work for me.

Again, Q works fine. I just can backup manually or automatically.

Ideas?

Try quitting Quicken then delete the file com.quicken.Quicken.plist from the folder (username) > Library > Preferences. (Or move it to the desktop so you can later restore if needed.)
