I recenlty had fraud on my credit card that has a 0 balance and not used it in years. I called and initaited fraud. I generally do not look at that account. I happened to notice when I logged into my acount a 70 cent balance. I would have caught that earlier if quicken integration worked.
I contacted them asking why there is a 70 cent balance when all the charges are fraud. Now I have to call again and fill out another dispute. Why ???? They really operate in the dark ages.
So now Golden 1 acknowlelge is their error on 70 cents but says I have to pay th 70 cents since payment is due 6/9 to avoid late fees. They are an awful bank.
It does seem hard to believe they would hit you up for 70 cents to avoid a late charge - I would reach out via their secured messaging system to a 'member advocate' and plead for common sense assistance. You could present your arguments and ask them to waive the 70 cents charge while they are investigating (?) I cannot imagine they would not help you for such a low amount. It will cost them more than 70 cents in support time to chase it down. They are a 'non-profit' credit union, the biggest in California. One would hope things will improve soon. Hard to imagine them getting any worse, yeah?
This is the 10th email in the secure messaging. Keep in mind every single charge was fraud. Which disupute has been resolved. I can not believe they are still in business.
To clarify why the automated system requires up to two billing cycles for the ISA fee to be automatically reversed, please note that the credit card networks and core banking systems process fee adjustments in batches rather than in real time.Depending on the timing of your monthly billing cycle, a finalized reversal often bridges across two separate statement dates before the credit officially posts to the account. Please note, closing the credit card account does not absolve the remaining $0.70 balance. As noted previously, the balance is currently due on 06/17/2026. We can close the credit card as requested, but leaving the balance unpaid may result in past due reporting, which could negatively impact your credit standing.
