Downloading transactions from Bank of America

Question

I need to download the past five months of my transactions from B of A. Today I reauthorized access to my B of A accounts. The Quicken Update window opened and said it was retrieving the past 170 days of transactions. But when I opened the accounts in Quicken only the most recent month's transactions were available to accept. Where are the rest of them? B of A no longer provides any kind of file to download that Quicken can import.

Thank you, Quicken Carlos. I did examine the .csv files that B of A provides, but they would require so much reformatting that it seemed wiser to just buckle down and enter it all by hand. Looks like I will now be downloading every month on B of A's schedule. Sigh!

Transaction downloads are typically limited to the last 90 to 200 days, depending on the financial institution. Since Bank of America has discontinued Web Connect (QFX) downloads, you can import transactions into Quicken using a comma-separated values (.CSV) file instead.

To create and import a CSV file, I suggest following the steps outlined in our support article on importing transactions from a CSV file. Please note the file must include all required columns, in the correct order, even if some columns have no data.

* FI Payee
* Amount *
* Debit/Credit
* Category
* Account *
* Tag
* Memo
* Chknum

If the account you are trying to update is an investment account, the transactions will need to be entered manually, as the steps above apply only to banking accounts.
