Quicken not starting after last update (7/1/2026)

Quicken will not start after installing the last update.

I am seeing a blank/white screen (WSOD?). Quicken shows as "not responding" in the task manager with no sub-processes active.

qw.log: Shows blank lines with the date that correspond to my last attempt.
DATA_LOG.txt: Shows that it is trying to open the Quicken file that corresponds to my last attempt.

quickenPatch.txt: Shows the update was successful. contents:

I have reapplied the last update. no change.
I have started the app while holding <ctrl/shift> and selected a new file. no change.
I have disabled the antivirus. no change.

Edition Windows 10 Enterprise
Version 22H2
Installed on ‎8/‎5/‎2020
OS Build 19045.6456

Screenshots below. For a split second the File and menu option bar was displayed. Then the screen goes blank.

Precisely the same experience / actions taken. Based on the app reverting to a state of 'Not Responding', I have to believe the issue is with the app…and not the data file.

I called Customer Support and was informed there have been several reports of this issue. They advised me it would be 1 - … days for a response.

If I do receive a reply I will return to this post and add it to the comments.

Thank you for reporting what you're experiencing and for outlining the troubleshooting steps you've already taken.

Additionally, please try verifying that Quicken can reach the Quicken ID login service:

Close Quicken.
Launch a web browser.
Go to the Quicken My Account login page. If the webpage appears, then the system can connect to the Quicken ID server. If the webpage cannot be displayed, follow internet connectivity troubleshooting.

I also recommend running Quicken as an administrator. Before doing so, if you use a firewall or security software, temporarily disable it to rule out any interference, then:

Right-click the Quicken icon
Select Run as administrator

Please let me know if that makes any difference.

Thank you for your response. However,

1.) I was logged in when I wrote this. Obviously, Quicken Auth is working for me. And I verified that it does, again.
2.) The "blank/white registration" page directs me to use the menubar on the app to validate and repair. Please read my note above carefully and note that I am not on a registration page, nor do I have a menubar. I don't even have a title bar.

Disabling anti-virus, the firewall, and running as an admin made no difference.

Confirming that the proposed solutions were ineffective.

As mentioned in my previous comment, Quicken Customer Support has already been contacted regarding this issue. They advised me it would be 1 - ??? days for a response to be provided.

I apologize @DWanl, i thought i was responding to a quicken employee.

I was able to successfully get my environment working again.

As with anything Quicken, CYA and get a backup of your .QDF file first.

Here is what i did. i am not a Quicken professional. YMMV.

go here (Activate | Quicken). scroll down the page to the I'm installing or reinstalling Quicken Classic section, download the appropriate install executable for your environment and execute.

@ Phillips Own - Thanks for the follow up. I also was able to get my app to work, following multiple re-installation efforts. However, it is certainly not working smoothly.

I will follow your instructions and see if it provides a better solution.
