Investment Accounts not connecting?

Hello,

I'm having issues connecting my investment accounts to the Quicken Connected Accounts function.

With my CIBC investment accounts, the add accounts search doesn't find my investment accounts at all. My CIBC banking accounts are connected with no issues. However, the investment service through CIBC (called CIBC Investor's Edge) cannot be found.

I'd appreciate your advice!

I've reviewed the current Canadian FIDIR.TXT and it indicates that three Canadian financial institutions support downloading investment transactions using Express Web Connect (EWC): CIBC (but only by using the French entry point as shown above), RBC, and TD. However, this will be limited to the range of securities one can hold on the banking side of these institutions (e.g. single mutual funds). The EWC cabability does not apply to the discount brokerage side of the house. I don't attach much value to this functionality because I do all my investing on the brokerage side of the house. If you just have a few mutual funds held on the bank side of the house, then then this might provide some utility. That is, if you can accept the security risks of using EWC and you don't run into issues with multi-factor authentication.

Hi @FanaticCarpenter35,

I checked the information for the CIBC financial institution instance, and it currently supports only banking accounts, as @Arctic Hare mentioned .

However, I found another CIBC instance that uses the same URL and supports investment accounts. I suggest trying to connect using Banque CIBC instead.

CIBC doesn’t support connected investing accounts. There is very little support for downloading investment transactions into Quicken in Canada using any method Across all financial institutions. It is mostly a manual entry process. There are a very small number of exceptions to this general rule.
